Description
ReDIB will carry out six (6) COMPETITIVE OPEN ACCESS CALLS each year, which will open on the first day of each of the odd-numbered months of the year.
All AAC calls include the following three phases:
- 1ST PHASE: RECEPTION OF APPLICATIONS
This reception period will last one and a half months, except for the 4th call, which will last 2 months.
- 2ND PHASE: EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS
Once the application admission phase is closed, the Access Committee will have a maximum of fifteen days to evaluate all the applications received and send the results to the ReDIB Coordinator. For all this, the Access Committee Regulations and the Access Protocol in force in ReDIB (see DOCUMENTATION), which regulate the approval and prioritisation of CSA applications, shall apply.
- 3RD PHASE: MAKING EXPERIMENTS
The accesses approved in each AAC call will be made within two months of their approval, following the schedule agreed with the corresponding node.
An exception to this general rule will be the so-called "long-term" accesses, which, due to their longer duration, may be made beyond the two-month period. Such long-term accesses shall agree with the relevant ReDIB facility or node on the terms and details of the scheduling of their experiments. The facility or node involved in such long-term access shall be responsible for increasing the number of AAC hours or adjusting its offer in subsequent calls.
Timeline
The table at the bottom of this page shows the timing of the six annual calls with their respective phases.
Application deadlines
Applications for Competitive Open Access (CAA) can only be submitted electronically through this website and within the deadlines indicated for each call according to the table in the previous section. Applications received outside the deadlines indicated will not be accepted as CSAs, in which case they will be treated as Access on Demand (AaD) with the conditions established for them.
Time limitation
The access time requested by each user may not exceed the maximum offered in this call for each facility indicated. Requests that require more working hours than this maximum must choose between requesting new accesses in successive AAC calls, or requesting AaD.
If you are not able to estimate the time required for the experimentation associated with your proposal, or your study has a duration longer than the two months included in this call ("long-term study"), please consult with the ReDIB node directly involved.
Offer per call and node
ReDIB ICTS nodes offer in AAC 20% of the annual capacity of their core facilities.
For each of the 6 AAC calls that ReDIB will open in the year, the offer offered by the nodes is as follows:
